Figurative

Arguably most of what is of importance to us humans can be found in the faces of the people around us. I.e., love, hate, pain, bliss, ecstasy. I only feel I met someone truly, after locking eyes for some seconds, peeking into their soul. Random abstract worlds of lines highlight the beauty of human oneness, diversity, and imperfection.

BOUNDARIES OF SELF
Indian ink on paper
2021 120x220cm (sold)

The drawing investigates the boundaries of self in time and space. Where do we start and end? What am I what is other? Looking closely, I fail to find the line. The child is Andreas as a child. The grown-up is Andreas as of 2021. Am I both of these, or one, or none?

Created at a 6-week Residence in Greenpoint, New York City, exhibited at Noosphere arts.
